MEDICAL INSURANCE

All international students must have medical insurance while they are studying in Canada. After three months in British Columbia, students will be eligible to purchase insurance from B.C. Medical Services Plan (MSP). Students with no medical insurance or invalid coverage will not be permitted to attend classes.

For your information: On February 15, 2013, the provincial government replaced the CareCard with a new BC Services Card, which can be combined with your valid BC Driver’s License . The BC Services Card has a unique lifetime identifier for health care called a personal health number. This number remains the same, regardless of any changes to personal status. The card is also a valuable way to confirm your identity. Please visit the MSP website for more information.
