History of Dorset College

Founded in 1981, a destination of choice, students and faculty come from across the nation and the world to take advantage of Dorset College’s unique and diverse community.

Dorset places the needs of students first by providing a friendly environment that stresses academic success. Our motto, Excellence in Education, determines the high quality of instruction we offer all our students. Established in 1981, Dorset College is one of the oldest, largest, and most reputable international colleges. Originally located in Vancouver, it is now based in British Columbia, Surrey. Dorset College, for many years, has been providing exceptional post-secondary education to international students from around the globe.

Dorset’s PGSA program is a unique academic pathway designed to support students in progressing toward a bachelor’s or master’s Degree at one of our reputable Canadian partner universities. Through this program, students may be eligible to receive credit recognition for completed coursework. Dorset College also offers the English as a Second Language Program to equip students with the skills necessary for success in English-speaking universities and professional environments.

Dorset College is certified as a private training institute and dully recognized as Designated Learning Institute under Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB/ PTIRU) of Ministry of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills, Government of British Columbia, Canada.

What is PTIB/ PTIRU?

 In British Columbia, private institutions that have been reviewed by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB/ PTIRU) and have succeeded in meeting the requirements of the PTIB/ PTIRU may be referred to as “designated institutions”. The Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB/ PTIRU) operates under the authority of the Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Advanced Education.
